Your non-denominational/non-religious/secular ceremony
For couples who want to organise a non-religious ceremony before their wedding reception, we have several spaces to offer in the abbey of Fontdouce.
If you want to celebrate it inside to enjoy the gothic architecture of the capitular room or the roman architecture of the lower chapel, it’s possible. If you prefer to organise it ouside in the courtyard of the ancient gothic cloister, in the meadow at the heart of the valley or in the (enclos abbatial), it is possible too. It’s up to you to choose what you prefer.
Your cocktail
For your cocktails and receptions, Fontdouce abbey provides you different spaces.
Many couples let themselves be charmed by the cloister and its intimate atmosphere. These two spaces are perfectly suitable to welcome the guests at best. The terrace/deck/patio will give you a wonderful view on the small valley of Fontdouce, the gardens and the great adjoining meadow.
If the weather is unpredictable, you can still go in the capitular room, a vaulted room from the 13th century that can host up to 250 guests.
Your dinner
To spend a memorable evening in a timeless place, the abbey of Fontdouce kept you the monks’ room that can host up to 300 guests for a meal.
With its walls made of old stones and lighted from the ground, its stage to give speeches, everything is in place to have a wonderful dinner.
Your dance night
To continue your party after the dinner, the monks’ room can be easily turned into a dance space. DJs and organisers can take a place on the stage. The space in front of the stage is usually used as the dance floor. You can also enjoy the outdoor spaces!
Your bucolic brunch
The day after, you can meet with all your guests for a bucolic brunch or picnic in the different outdoor spaces like the meadow for example. We can also make the monks’ room available to you again.
Your fun and cultural activities
Team building is not only for companies!
It can also be for the guests the day before the wedding reception to allow everyone to get to know each other. This way they can share a fun and convivial time doing treasure hunts, riding zip lines and playing laser game. We offer all these activities in Fontdouce, for everyone.
Once your preparations are done, our team will swing into action to allow you to relax with your loved ones and to take a break before the big day!
